In 1983, Kathy Walters discovered Kirkwood and has never left. Arriving from San Diego, it was the friendly small town life, stunning Sierra beauty, definitive four seasons and outdoor mountain sports that captured her heart. Alpine skiing is still her passion, but backcountry skiing, hiking, biking, cross country skiing and summers spent beaching at the local lakes is what she loves best. Kathy has been a full time Kirkwood resident, homeowner, employee and active community member for twenty three years.
Her dedication to Kirkwood is evident. For example, she has worked with blind skiers, coached for the local ski team, was manager for Food and Beverage, was treasurer for her homeowner’s association, started the Summer Programs and Events for the resort, contributed to the creation of the Kirkwood Community Cookbook, and worked for the Kirkwood Meadows Public Utility District as their environmental analyst. Kathy began her sales career with Kirkwood Real Estate 11 years ago. "This is the perfect job for me: I just love all the interesting people I am fortunate to meet and how it allows me to radiate my genuine passion and knowledge of the area".
For her, Kirkwood is the perfect home: immersed in nature’s rhythms and surrounded by serenity and beauty, it is so easy to relax, rejuvenate and reflect on what is truly important in life.
